In 2016, our founder Dr Zia and his young family had just relocated to Queensland. His wife was pregnant and urgently needed a GP consultation over the weekend. Despite their best efforts, they could not secure a same-day appointment. That experience became a defining moment — and Dr Zia made a commitment: if he ever had the opportunity to lead a general practice, he would remove barriers to access so that families could receive care when they needed it most.
In 2017, that commitment became reality with the acquisition of Beerwah Family Clinic. Driven by a mission to improve access to primary care, the group expanded across the Sunshine Coast. Today, ZH Doctors serves the community with a multidisciplinary team of over 29 GPs across five practices and a dedicated skin cancer clinic.
Our mission is twofold: to deliver accessible, high-quality primary care to the Sunshine Coast community, and to create sustainable, professionally fulfilling positions for local GPs and allied health practitioners.
We maintain a “small family practice feel” across every location. Despite our growth, we never lose the continuity of care and personal connection that defines us.

Dr Zia arrives in Australia as an international medical graduate and begins training in Queensland hospitals.
Dr Zia moves to the Sunshine Coast; the founding vision for accessible primary care takes shape.
Acquisition of Beerwah Family Clinic; the first cohort of patients and founding clinical team established. Practice accreditation achieved through FSP and QPA frameworks
Expansion to Sippy Downs Family Clinic and HUR Family Clinic.
Two additional clinic locations added to the network.
Mooloolah Surgery joins the network. Clinical team grows to over 29 GPs with nursing and allied health support. Online booking, electronic medical records, and extended hours introduced.
